General

The trident of the swamp is a powered staff which requires 75 magic to wield. To make this trident a player must use a magic fang on an uncharged trident of the seas with a chisel. This requires 59 crafting. The trident is only tradeable when it is uncharged.

The staff has its own magic spell that can be utilized regardless of the players current spellbook. However, it cannot autocast any additional combat spells. This built-in spell does not give bass experience but does grant 2 experience per damage dealt.

Charging

The staff can hold 2,500 charges. Each cast requires 1 death rune, 1 chaos rune, 5 fire runes, and 1 Zulrah’s scale.

Upgrade

The trident of the swamp can be upgraded to an enhanced trident of the swamp by trading Lieve McCracken 10 kraken tentacles and an uncharged toxic trident.

Passive Effects

The staff’s spell has a 25% chance of inflicting venom on their opponent. If the player has a serpentine helmet equipped the spell has a 100% infection rate when fighting monsters. Though, when fighting other players, the odds remain at 25%.

The max hit can be increased with the occult necklace, imbued god capes, tormented brace, slayer helm, and potions. The max hit caps at 48.

Information

The staff’s spell cannot be used against other players in the Wilderness. It can only be used against other players while participating in the Castle Wars or TzHaar Fight Pit minigames. It can be used in Clan Wars if its has been enabled by the clan leaders.
