Tangleroot is a pet that is obtained randomly when checking the health and harvesting final crops of any fully grown patch.
This pet can also be obtained while playing the Tithe Farm minigame. The odds are dependent on the player’s farming level and the specific crop the player is currently harvesting.
When received, the pet will automatically appear as their follower. A red message in the chat box will state that “You have a funny feeling like you’re being followed.”
If a player receives a pet while already being followed (i.e. cat), it will appear in inventory. When this occurs, the message in the chat box will read that “You feel something weird sneaking into your backpack.” If both a follower is already present and the players’ inventory is full then the pet will not be received.
If a player dies with their pet, either in inventory or as a follower, then the pet will wander for 30 seconds before disappearing.
Players can pay a fee of 500,000 gold coins to Probita in East Ardougne to insure their pets. If the pet is lost while insured, it can be reclaimed for 1,000,000 coins.
